Original Pilot: Me vs. You

Corporate lawyer Sahana and artist Ben struggle to make their inter-racial relationship work. Sahana’s parents love Ben like their own son…so, what’s the problem? Sahana’s company is responsible for the gentrification of the LA Arts District, which is now putting Ben out of work. Me vs. You is a 30-min single-camera TV Pilot. This script has been recognized by the LaunchPad Pilot Competition, Finish Line Script Competition, and Austin Film Festival Script Competition.

Pilot in progress: Rite of Passage

Tara Sekar has spent her whole life on Columbia University’s campus - always within a half mile radius of her PhD parents. Just when she thinks she can leave the nest, she gets fired from her first job and ends up at home. “Modern Family” meets “Master of None” in this family comedy that tackles growing up together, reshaping the South Asian immigrant experience, and following the first batch of post-grad Gen Z professionals. Rite of Passage is a 30-min single-camera pilot.

Spec Script: Grown-ish

Grown-ish is one of the few shows on network television that celebrates a diverse cast and the everyday lives of college students. I wanted to write a spec for a show that fit my interests and takes up a unique space in TV comedy.

In my spec, Aaron convinces the crew to take part in Hawkins Hall’s first “awkward date night.” After spending one-on-one time with each other, Zoey and co. realize they did not know each other as well as they originally thought.

Archives: RSVP

RSVP is a six part web series set at a glamorous Hindu wedding. Each episode shows the moments leading up to a defining incident from the point of view of six individual wedding guests. Questions of caste, inter-religious marriage, and socio-economic status come to the forefront as the wedding unfolds.
